Monsoon Fury Claims Lives Across India as Wayanad Death Toll Rises, Delhi Faces Flooding, and Maharashtra and Gujarat Reel Under Heavy Rain

Heavy monsoon rains continue to devastate multiple states across India, raising the Wayanad landslide death toll to four, causing severe flooding in Delhi and the National Capital Region, triggering a deadly building collapse in Pune, and claiming lives in Surat as rescue, evacuation, and relief operations remain underway amid continuing weather alerts.

Relentless monsoon rains continued to wreak havoc across several parts of India, claiming lives, disrupting transportation, and triggering widespread flooding. Rescue operations remained underway in Kerala's Wayanad, where the death toll from the landslide has risen to four, while severe rainfall caused extensive damage in Delhi, Maharashtra, and Gujarat.

Kerala Minister A P Anilkumar confirmed that one more body was recovered from Zone 1 of the search area on Thursday morning, taking the Wayanad landslide death toll to four. Speaking to reporters, the minister said search operations would continue in Zones 1 and 2, with rescue teams also concentrating efforts near the river in an attempt to locate any remaining victims.

In the national capital, two trees were uprooted on Raja Dhir Singh Marg in the East of Kailash area of southeast Delhi on Thursday, disrupting traffic movement. According to the Delhi Fire Service, no injuries were reported in either incident.

Heavy overnight rainfall also left large parts of Delhi, Gurgaon, Faridabad, and Ghaziabad waterlogged, severely affecting normal life. Visuals from the affected areas showed commuters struggling to travel through roads submerged under rainwater as persistent downpours continued across the National Capital Region.
